Broke leg boy

So it has happened, every mothers worst nightmare : a three year old with a broken leg. We were at play group and our friends' boisterous dogs were having a bit of a rough house and Nose was in the wrong place at the wrong time and down he went.

We weren’t sure if it was broken at the time but when Noah didn’t respond to “do you want some cake?” we knew it must be serious! Unfortunately we were ‘up the mountain’ at our friend Bryony’s place.

So 6kms down a very bumpy road, half an hour’s drive into Wauchope and a twenty minute ambulance ride later we arrived at Port Macquarie hospital. Unluckily we had to stay in for three nights. I don’t think Nose minded very much, after the morphine wore off there was endless ABC2 and hospital jelly.

Anyway he’s home now and it been three weeks with another three to go before he gets a below the knee cast. He has been coping with three year old resolution.

And the worst thing? No swimming in the creek- TRAGIC!!! It has been so very hot here and swimming in the middle of the day is our best relief. To substitute we have had spray bottles in the fridge and plenty of icy blocks.

In other news my sister Angela and niece Sophie have arrived to live followed shortly after by Ang’s husband Ken who has been recovering in hospital broken bone number two: a broken back. Its great to have them here and plans are already buzzing around for big orchards and pigs.
