Dinning chairs from the 70's, Mum bought them a year before I was born. Leather and wood and very squeaky! Their table was made by my dad from Jarrah he salvaged from their old property in Geraldton.
Cushions from their travels in Cambodia when they went to visit my sister who lived there for two years studying rat control in rice fields. The side table (unfortunately covered up) was actually bought by my grandfather at a 2nd hand rotary sale in1955. The coffee table was made by my dad and my sister using old floor broads from White Peak (their old homestead back in Geraldton). The wall hanging is from a trip they made to India a few years back. I love that lamp. Mum got it for $15 at a second-hand furniture-and-everything-else store in Murwillumbah that's run by a crazy man. I love that place and could have camped out there for at least 4 or 5 days!
I love all the windows in their office. They look out over the veranda and the side of the house to their lush sub-tropical garden and beyond to mango trees that must be over 100 years old! Mum is studying history at University so this is the messy epicentre of her world.
Bedroom
The sideboard is a beautiful old piece that belonged to my Granny and Granddad. The photo above was taken in 1914, it is of my Granny when she was about 8.
My little man Noah and his cousin Sophie who had her 2nd birthday party while we were there.
Mum and dads veranda. I WILL have a veranda like this one day!
Friends, Val and Gerry.
My adorable Nana and her gentleman friend, Ern, trying to keep up with Noah.
